Last 11 July, the awards for "Best Dissertation in Structures", awarded by the Structural Division of FCT-UNL’s Civil Engineering Department and the UNIC - Centre for Research in Structures and Construction took place. These awards had the support of CSI Portugal, IPQ, Hilti Portugal and Pearson Portugal. The three finalists of the competition were following dissertations: "Pushover analysis with shell elements in structural walls"; "Strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with external FRP reinforcement" and "A nonlinear finite element for steel-concrete composite beams". This last dissertation was the one winning the prize and was prepared by David José Henriques dos Santos.
