Mater Dynamics, a startup founded by FCT-NOVA doctoral student Tiago Cunha Reis, recently won the DNA Cascais entrepreneurship competition.
Mater Dynamics (www.materdynamics.com) is dedicated to the development of sensors for monitoring the quality of food products, allowing producers and consumers to assess the quality of a product either from a color scale or under an interaction wirelessly.
The project is developed in partnership with companies in the food sector, with the technology patenting phase. In its first three months of existence, the Mater Dynamics finished the first investment round together business angels and has its first product (QStamp® in certification phase). In the near future, Tiago Cunha Reis says Mater Dynamics will improve the current process of production QStamp® in order to meet the existing notes of orders, while in parallel will launch a crowdfunding campaign to a version of QStamp® (QStamp® Home) for home use.
