Started in the academic year 2006/2007. The minimum number of credits for the degree is 120 (2 years).
Environmental Engineering studies environmental problems integrating them in its ecological, social, economic and technological dimensions in order to promote sustained and balanced development. The Integrated Master in Environmental Engineering of FCT NOVA aims to train engineers able to design, plan, deploy, manage and implement solutions taking the environment as an object of work. The integrated Master follows the Bologna Process requirements of the Degree in Environmental Engineering established in 1978. This course is one of the oldest and most prestigious in Environmental Engineering at national and international level, accredited by the Ordem dos Engenheiros since 1999.
The MEA of FCT NOVA divides in two areas of expertise:
Masters’ curricular organization is based on credit units (ECTS) giving students the opportunity to participate in mobility programs within European Union. The Master in Environmental Engineering is organized as an integrated course of five years, corresponding to a global effort of 300 ECTS.
After the 1st cycle, corresponding to 180 ECTS, the degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences is obtained and the Masters’ degreed with the completion of the integrated study cycle.

Foreign students: 7000 €/year 60% reduction for CPLP (Community of Portuese Language Countries) students

The Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering has forty teachers with extensive scientific, technical and pedagogical experience, that support the teaching about 600 students in courses with different valences and degrees of higher education. The functioning of teaching laboratories and research is supported by a number of specialized technicians.
In addition to its mission in terms of education and research, teachers and / or students of the Department have been crucial in creating relevant companies in environmental engineering areas such as YDreams and E-Value.More info
