FCT NOVA coordinates for the first time an Interreg Atlantic Area Project for the Economy of the Sea

Interreg Atlantic Area Project

This is the first time that FCT NOVA coordinates an Interreg Atlantic Area project. The program counts on the participation of 15 partners and 2,2 million euros to promote the valuation of knowledge in the area of ​​the economy of the sea.

The EMPORIA4KT - Empower academy for knowledge transfer for value creation in the Atlantic Area - aims to enable the Academy to transfer knowledge and innovation for the creation of value in the Atlantic Area (EAPA_842 / 2018). The objectives are to train researchers in knowledge transfer and innovation and to influence improvements in the policies of the Sea and Innovation at regional, national and international level.

This project will be coordinated by Professor António Grilo from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and its research center (DEMI / UNIDEMI), with the active collaboration of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering (DCEA) / MARE and the Research and Innovation Accelerator ( RIA).

The program foresees the promotion and valorization of projects in the area of ​​the economy of the sea. Stay tuned!
