EBIMed Project wins NOVA Idea Competition

The EBIMed Cough Monitoring Project from EBIMed won the NOVA Idea Competition on May 24th.

The team, composed by Alexandra Lopes, Miguel Andrade, Sara Lobo, Diogo Tecelão (FCT NOVA), Filipe Valadas (FCT NOVA / NOVA SBE) and André Pita and Laura Lopes (NMS), is working for a monitor able to quantify cough, with devices are already created but not marketed.

EBIMed is the Junior Biomedical Engineering Company of FCT NOVA, whose mission is to develop projects and activities that promote the deepening and application of competences and knowledge acquired academically, establish bridges with national and international institutions in the area of ​​Biomedical Engineering.

"This award is more than recognition of the work of the team, it represents a validation of the importance of the device that is being developed by EBIMED, and still an appreciation that EBIMed is on the right track, being a new step for the future! ".

The same project had already been the winner of the  Life Enablers competition in 2018.
