NOVA FCT once again took part in the European Researchers’ Night, bringing Science, Engineering and Technology closer to society. More than 80 researchers from the School showcased the very best of NOVA FCT through a wide range of activities and demonstrations.
With interactive and engaging experiences, NOVA FCT researchers captivated hundreds of visitors at the National Museum of Natural History and Science, the Botanical Garden, the Príncipe Real Garden, and the Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Science Centre.
“Bringing science to society is today a fundamental duty of higher education and research institutions,” said José Júlio Alferes, Dean of NOVA FCT, at the opening session.
Visitors were invited to take part in diverse and captivating activities: from a “Walk through Space”, to tasting cookies enriched with insect flour protein, or even painting with the “Barbie pinks of the past.” These were just some of the initiatives that showed how science can be innovative, fun and accessible to all ages.
The European Researchers’ Night is held simultaneously in 460 cities across 25 European countries, bringing scientists closer to citizens and highlighting the role of science in everyday life. NOVA FCT’s participation reinforces the School’s commitment to inspiring future generations, sparking curiosity, and contributing to a more informed and sustainable society.
