On November 12, the NOVA FCT community will come together to celebrate another anniversary of the School, marking 48 years of history. This ceremony is a moment of recognition and sharing, honoring the achievements of the past year and reaffirming the commitment to the mission that has guided us since our foundation: contributing to solving major global challenges.
Over nearly five decades, NOVA FCT has played an essential role in training highly qualified professionals and conscientious citizens, prepared to face the great challenges of our time. Through a strong focus on interdisciplinarity, pedagogical innovation, and research excellence, the School builds the future on a foundation of knowledge, social responsibility, and sustainable progress.
The event will honor the best students, recognize the work and dedication of faculty and staff, and include musical moments that celebrate the creativity and sense of community that characterize NOVA FCT.
Among the honorees is student-athlete Pedro Casinha, who recently won a gold medal at a European canoeing competition. His journey is an example of the talent, perseverance, and spirit of achievement that define our students.
The ceremony will feature a special participation by José Teixeira, President of dstgroup, one of the country’s leading construction companies, recognized for its strategic vision, good practices in human resources, and involvement in cultural patronage projects. The entrepreneur will contribute with the talks “The History of the Future” and “What Shall I Do When Everything Burns?”, reflecting on leadership, innovation, and responsibility in the current context.
Also attending will be the Rector of NOVA University Lisbon, the National Vice President of the Portuguese Engineers Association, the NOVA FCT Board, and the President of the Students’ Association, underscoring the institutional importance of this celebration for the entire academic community.
