Vasco Amaral elected Vice-President of IFIP

Vasco Amaral, professor in the Department of Computer Science at NOVA FCT, has been elected Vice-President of IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) during his participation in IFIP’s General Assembly in Nyon (Switzerland), as the national representative appointed by the Portuguese Order of Engineers.

As Vice-President of IFIP, he will join the President, Kai Rannenberg, and the Vice-President, Liz Eastwood, in leading this world-renowned organization in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.

IFIP is a truly global organization, something particularly relevant in the current geopolitical context, founded under the auspices of UNESCO. It brings together professional and academic associations from more than 40 countries, representing engineers, researchers, and professionals in the field of computer science.
