Elvira Fortunato, Professor at the Department of Materials Science and researcher at CENIMAT|i3N, has once again been recognized as the “Trusted Personality in Research and Science” by readers of Reader’s Digest Selecções.
For the sixth consecutive year, the scientist stands out in this annual Trusted Brands study, conducted since 2001, which assesses public perception and credibility of personalities and brands among consumers. In this edition, Elvira Fortunato significantly strengthened her position, increasing from 23% to 48% of votes—nearly doubling the public’s confidence in her work and contributions to science.
“Being elected a trusted personality in the field of science is, above all, a motivation to continue inspiring new generations of researchers,” said the scientist.
This recognition further reinforces Elvira Fortunato’s central role in promoting Portuguese science and raising public awareness of the importance of scientific research for social progress.
