Filipe Ferreira da Silva elected President of the Portuguese Vacuum Society for 2026-2028

Filipe Ferreira da Silva, professor in the NOVA FCT Physics Department and CEFITEC researcher, has been elected president of the Portuguese Vacuum Society (SOPORVAC) for the 2026-2028 term.

The election took place at the SOPORVAC General Assembly, held on March 16, 2026, at the Pedro Nunes Institute in Coimbra. During this session, several CEFITEC integrated members were also elected to the association's governing bodies:  Ana Fonseca as president of the General Assembly, Mónica Mendes as secretary of the General Assembly,  João Ameixa as president of the Fiscal Council, and  Nenad Bundaleski as a member of the Board of Directors.

This election strengthens NOVA FCT's and CEFITEC's role in promoting research and development in vacuum technologies at the national level.
