On March 12, NOVA FCT held the inauguration ceremony for the external members who will join the School Council for the new term.
On this occasion, Maria Teresa da Silveira Bretão Machado Luciano and Ivo Yves de Matos Pereira Vieira concluded their terms of office, and the School expressed its sincere gratitude for their valuable contributions and dedication throughout their mandate.
The Council now welcomes Ana Rita Silva Pereira Vidigal Monteiro, Public Sector Business Lead for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Microsoft, responsible for strategy across the Education, Government, and Healthcare industries, and Inês de Saint-Maurice Esteves de Medeiros Victorino de Almeida, actress, film director, and current Mayor of Almada.
Mário Jacinto Soares de Oliveira Lopes Figueira, Executive Director at Axians Portugal (part of the Vinci Energies Group), NOVA FCT alumnus in Industrial Production Engineering, and Chair of the School Council between 2023 and 2025, continues in his role.
The presence of these distinguished external figures, with diverse backgrounds across technology, public administration, culture, and management, reinforces NOVA FCT’s commitment to interdisciplinarity, excellence, and strong connections between science, society, and industry, contributing to the Faculty’s strategic development.
