The 3D Printing Center for Health, part of NOVA FCT, was selected as one of the three finalists in the 3rd edition of the TOP Health Awards, in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category, among more than 100 submissions. This distinction recognizes the center’s work in developing accessible, personalized, and people-centered technological solutions, with a direct impact on improving the quality of life of patients and communities.
Created at NOVA FCT under the coordination of Cláudia Quaresma, professor and researcher in the Department of Physics, the center develops healthcare devices using 3D printing, combining research, innovation, and social responsibility. Its activity is based on a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach, involving healthcare professionals, researchers, patients, and caregivers in the design of solutions tailored to specific needs.
Being among the TOP Health Awards finalists represents recognition of the team’s merit and the project’s relevance within the healthcare innovation ecosystem. This nomination also reinforces NOVA FCT’s commitment to developing initiatives with social, scientific, and technological impact.
The 3D Printing Center for Health has been collaborating with several healthcare institutions in the development and adaptation of prostheses, support devices, and other functional assistance solutions.
