NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT), through the BIOENG research group — Biochemical Engineering Group, Department of Chemistry/UCIBIO, has established a strategic partnership with the Portuguese company AGROPHENOLS, reinforcing both entities' commitment to sustainable innovation and the promotion of the circular economy.
AGROPHENOLS specializes in valorizing agricultural by-products, transforming them into innovative ingredients for applications in cosmetics, materials, and carbon solutions. This approach directly contributes to waste reduction and the sustainability of production systems.
The agreement encompasses various collaboration areas, including internship opportunities for NOVA FCT students, joint research activities, and collaborative projects between the two institutions.
Beyond the scientific component, the partnership also foresees the exploration of technology transfer opportunities and strengthened ties with the business ecosystem, promoting the development of sustainable solutions with real market impact.
Through this initiative, NOVA FCT and AGROPHENOLS consolidate their role in the transition to a greener, circular, and knowledge-based economy, contributing to more efficient use of natural resources and advancing innovation in Portugal.
