The NOVA athletics team put on an outstanding performance at the National University Athletics Championship (Outdoor Track), held in Braga, finishing in 2nd place in the overall team standings — a result that reflects the strength and depth of the group.
The competition was marked by four national university titles won by NOVA FCT students. Catarina Lourenço claimed the 100m with authority, while Elena Furk and Francisco Lima dominated the High Jump in their respective categories. Guilherme Faias completed the quartet of champions by winning the 400m.
The podium was made even richer by bronze medals from Francisco Pereira in the Hammer Throw and Nuno Cidade do Carmo in the Javelin Throw, also from NOVA FCT, — two results that demonstrate the collective quality of this team across multiple events.
Congratulations to all student-athletes for their excellent representation of NOVA FCT. This 2nd place in the overall standings reflects hard work, dedication, and the ability to balance high-level competition with academic excellence.
