The publication of FCT-UNL's solar laser aboratory Researchers,  "Side-pumped continuous-wave Cr: Nd: YAG ceramic laser solar" (Liang Dawei, Joana Almeida, Emmanuel Guillot, Applied Physics B, 2013, Volume 111, Issue 2,. pp. 305-311), was highlighted by "Renewable Energy Global Innovations" as a key scientific paper because of their contribution to excellence in the field of energy research.


The  call for the 2014 Summer Institutes for European Student Leaders is taking place now and the application deadline is February 28th. This year the program will be dedicated to the following topics:

University Paris-Est Créteil is offering an Erasmus placement at the Biology Laboratory.


Professors and Researchers Carlos Lodeiro and  Elisabete Oliveira both from FCT-UNL, viewed their research work  recently highlighted on the cover of the March "Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences", magazine published by the Royal Society of Chemistry.


This Workshop will bring together disparate strands of research into an integrated discipline, putting Europe at the leading edge of autonomic transportation system development. Additionally it will have the wider benefit of producing a transformative change within the field of autonomic systems itself that will translate to other application areas such as energy management.


The Faculty of Science and Technology (New University of Lisbon) as the School of Agronomy (University of Lisbon) provide the Master Programme in Gastronomic Sciences. 


As a result of the existing collaboration between, the Italian Culturaç Institute in Lisbon and VICARTE, next 10 to 13 march several conferences will take place about this issue at FCT. More information in

Pedro Viana baptista has developed and optimized this methodology for the characterization of multi-drug resistant TB and the results now published in Tuberculosis.
