Master in Conservation and Restoration

Started in the academic year 2006/2007.

Objetivos

The Conservator-Restorer is a professional with the necessary knowledge, tools, training, and understanding to act independently in the field of cultural heritage preservation for the benefit of present and future generations.

The competence to perform Restoration intervention implies a critical attitude and the ability to carry out an accurate diagnosis. These are crucial not only in characterizing Heritage condition and pathologies, but also for proposing the best preventive or curative intervention measures. The intersection between the Practice of Conservation and Restoration, Conservation Science, and the Social and Human Sciences is particularly important in the formation of this critical attitude. Our faculty have a multidisciplinary and complementary training, making this master programme highly competitive both nationally and internationally.

Through this extensive training, particularly during the final Internship or Dissertation, the Master’s student in Conservation and Restoration acquires working skills in dialogue with the most diverse areas of knowledge. The professional trained at NOVA School of Science and Technology will be able to
