Professor Rodrigo Martins, Chairman of the Department of Science of Materials of FCT NOVA, has just been appointed as member of the European Academy of Sciences (EURASC).
The EURASC is a fully independent international organization that recognizes and chooses as its members the best European scientists who have a vision for Europe as a whole, transcending national borders. It aims at strengthening European science and scientific cooperation and use the expertise of its members in counseling other European bodies for improving the European research, technology application and social development. It is a completely independent association of any national entity, with respect to its members, electoral processes, decisions and actions. It is intended, therefore, to play a complementary role to the National Academies and the EASAC (European Acacemies Science Advisory Council).
