European Researchers' Night

The European Researchers' Night is an initiative promoted by the European Commission which aims to break down the barriers that separate science of citizens and to demystify the image of the distant and unapproachable scientist.

This year, the NOVA Faculty of Science and Technology organizes the European Researchers' Night, it was held on 30 September from 18h00 to 00h00, at the MUHNAC - National Museum of Natural History and Science / Museums of the University of Lisbon (MUHNAC- UL) under the theme "Science in Everyday Life / Science in the day-to-day."

The consortium of this project, coordinated by the University of Lisbon, through the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC) unites efforts between researchers coming from major universities in Portugal - University of Minho, University of Porto, three more universities in Lisbon University Lisbon, NOVA University and University Institute of Lisbon - and also Lisbon’s City Council. The latter will act as the coordinating unit of the activities that take place that night in Lisbon, being prepared an offering program for the general public, around the axis Rato and Chiado, with core activities in the museum, but also side events in the gardens of Príncipe Real  and São Pedro de Alcântara, which the purpose of showing the enormous quality of the research that is produced in Portugal.
