Record-breaking achievement at the 2024 European Experimental Science Olympiad with the participation of NOVA FCT

NOVA FCT played a crucial role in Portugal's successful participation in the 2024 European Experimental Science Olympiad held in Luxembourg. The participants returned with multiple gold and silver medals, and both of the competing teams secured positions within the top 10.

The delegation included João Cruz from the Physics Department and José Esperança from the Chemistry Department of NOVA FCT, serving as mentors in their respective fields. Student selection and training activities were conducted at NOVA FCT's Physics, Chemistry, and Life Science Departments, with dedicated support from professors Alice Pereira, Pedro Moura, and Sérgio Filipe.

"We commend this collaborative effort towards the future of our youth and Science Education," stated the Directorate-General for Education in its acknowledgment of NOVA FCT's contribution.
