AquainSilico, a spinoff from NOVA School of Science and Technology, has recently received the EIT RawMaterials Booster worth 60,000 euros.

The financial incentive aims to enhance the development of the company's technology, which consists of an IT solution to optimize the management of wastewater treatment in various sectors.

AquainSilico was established from the work of a team from the Biochemical Engineering (Bioeng) research group at UCIBIO, from the Department of Chemistry, and formalized as a spinoff in 2020. The team won the "Best of Technological Portugal" Award from Exame Informática in the category “software” in 2019.

This incentive from EIT Raw Materials aims to significantly improve innovation rates in the raw materials sector through financial support, network, and collaboration activities.

EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology), a body of the European Union, is the largest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide.
