NOVA improves position in QS World University Rankings

Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA) improved its position in the QS World University Rankings 2017/2018 rising five places to position 361.

NOVA is one of the top 1.4% universities in the world with above-average performance in this international ranking that evaluates around 3800 higher education institutions from the existing 26,000 in the world.

NOVA is the leader in Portugal in International Faculty which confirms the capacity to attract faculty and researchers at global level, and also in the Faculty Student indicator, scored 76% above the national average thus signaling the long term commitment with high teaching quality.

This year’s results show a performance higher than the national average in other indicators such as academic reputation, international faculty, international students, and employer reputation, the latter 49% above the average in Portugal.

The academic reputation and employer reputation criteria were the ones that improved the most. In the words of the Rector of NOVA, Professor António Rendas, “these results show, on the one hand, the recognition of NOVA by the employers as a quality institution in training professionals for the job market and, on the other hand, attest the opinion of the members of the international academic community when asked about the institutions where the best work in their areas is being conducted”.
