During the week of the second edition of the Portugal Code Movement, which took place in December, many schools throughout the country participated in the FCT NOVA CodingFest 2017 challenge.
In the closing session of the Portugal Code Movement, prizes were announced for the three schools of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles, which were able to solve the special challenges of the FCT NOVA CodingFest 2017 with a smaller number of program blocks.
The winning schools receive an Ozobot Evo robot, a CodingFest board offered by FCT NOVA, and a visit to the FabLab closest to their location to print on the leisure cutting equipment, the plaque alluding to their place in the classification.
There were six schools (see list of schools below) which, until the end of February, visited the FabLab in their region to receive their prizes enthusiastically. After visiting the facilities of the FabLab, the students of the schools have laser printed their Movement Code Portugal board, received the robot and the CodingFest board, followed by a fun experimentation session of the robot programming. The awards presentation sessions were attended by FabLab employees, FCT NOVA representatives and partners of the Portugal Code Movement.
It was great the enthusiasm of students and teachers, a unique experience!
