NOVA among the best young universities in Europe

Universidade NOVA de Lisboa stands out in the main international rankings. These results acknowledge the efforts developed by NOVA as an institution with internationally competitive research and teaching excellence, able to ensure high levels of professional success to its students.

NOVA is in 8th place in the list of European universities founded less than 50 years ago.

Compared to other young European universities, it ranked 4th in the areas of Engineering and Technology, Art and Humanities, Life Sciences and Medicine. It ranked second in the area of ​​Natural Sciences and sixth in Social Sciences and Management.

According to this ranking, NOVA is the fifth best European university with less than 50 years in the field of Education, it is in 7th place in the areas of Business and Economics and ranked 9th in the area of ​​Clinical and Health.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to this assessment, NOVA ranks second nationally, sixth among young european universities and 53rd worldwide.

NOVA ranked second among young universities in SDG 5-Gender Equality (15th place worldwide).

It is the fifth leading young european university to fulfill the SDG 3 ( Health, 90th position globally), 9 (Industry and Innovation, 51st worldwide) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals, 33rd place worldwide). And it is the eighth young university in Europe that best meets SDG 17 (Peace, Justice & Strong institutions, 51st globally).

According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, promoted by the Shanghai Ranking, NOVA is among the best young European universities in the field of Finance (2nd place), Civil Engineering (3rd place), Food Science and Technology (10th place), Business Administration (6th place), Political Science (9th place), Hospitality and Tourism Management(13th place), Economics (14th place) and Finance (2nd place) place).

Among the European universities founded less than 50 years ago, NOVA is in 9th place in the area as a Business School (it is 24th in Europe), 7th in the quality of Masters in Management (14th worldwide) and 3rd place in Masters in Finance (12th worldwide).
