10 years of Curricular Profile: A new approach to higher education

05-05-2022

On the 11th of May, NOVA School of Science and Technology hosts the 10 years of the Curricular Profile Seminar.

The meeting, which will take place in Library Auditorium , at 2:00 pm, will reflect on higher education and, in particular, on the impact of the Curricular Profile on the academic success and employability of students.

Implemented in 2012/13, the Curricular Profile was carefully designed to provide students with complementary skills, which are increasingly in demand in the job market. Its pioneering and innovative pedagogical execution, in its initial years, demonstrated its effectiveness in improving school performance and changing students' mind-set.

Ten years later, we have invited guests to discuss what has changed in higher education and in the job market, what distinguishes the training of our students, among other issues. For this conversation, we have the presence of Virgílio Cruz Machado, Director of FCT NOVA, Alexandra Líbano Monteiro, VP People at OutSystems, Francisca Matos, Head of Employee Experience & Talent Acquisition da NOS, Marta Quadros Brito, Alumna in Industrial Engineering and Management and currently at Amazon as Brand Specialist, Ruy Costa, Professor Responsible for the creation of the Curricular Unit “Transversal Competencies for Science and Technology”, António Grilo, Professor Responsible for the Curricular Unit “Entrepreneurship”, José Luís Câmara Leme, Professor Responsible for the Curricular Unit”Science, Technology and Digital Transformation”, and Ana Taborda, journalist, who will be the Moderator.
