AquaInSilico, a spin-off from NOVA School of Science and Technology and specialist in digital intelligence technologies for wastewater treatment, won the 1st place of the Green Award, promoted by VISÃO plus Grupo Águas de Portugal, in the Special PALOP category, with the project Phos-Value.

This project, implemented in Cape Verde, aspires to reduce water pollution and marine eutrophication, thus improving water quality for the local population. It was one of the 11 winners among the 150 candidacies submitted to the Green Award, an initiative with the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic that aims to recognise people, companies and organizations that stand out at environmental level, in Portugal.

The Awards ceremony took place on 6 May at the Alcântara Water Factory and was attended by the Minister of the Environment, Duarte Cordeiro, and Carlos Moedas, Mayor of Lisbon.
