Rodrigo Gonçalves won a Honorable Mention in the 11th edition of the Ferry Borges Award

Rodrigo Gonçalves, professor at the Department of Civil Engineering,  won an honorable mention in the Ferry Borges Award 2022. It is the second time in a row that the professor earns this distinction.

The award distinguished the work "Combining shell and GBT-based finite elements: linear and bifurcation analysis members", published in 2020 in the journal Thin-Walled Structures, co-authored by professor Dinar Camotim and by  PhD student David Manta..

The Ferry Borges Scientific Award is granted every three years and is intended to reward works of dissemination of knowledge in the field of structural engineering, developed in conjunction with Portuguese entities. It was established by APEE in 1998, with the collaboration of the Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC) and the Ordem dos Engenheiros.
