Carmona Rodrigues, professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of the NOVA School of Science and Technology and MARE researcher, was recently appointed as member of the Compliance Committee under the Protocol on Water and Health of the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes of 1992 (UNECE - United Nations Economic Commission for Europe/WHO - Regional Office for Europe).
The appointment took place during the sixth session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Water and Health to the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes, held from 16 to 18 November in Geneva.
The Compliance Committee objective is to facilitate, promote and seek to ensure compliance with the obligations under the Protocol, with a view to preventing disputes.
