FCT NOVA hosts European meeting on digital health projects

15-03-2023

Between March  9 and 10, NOVA School of Science and Technology hosted the Meeting of the Health & Care Cluster of the European Commission.

This initiative presented European projects and initiatives in the area of digital health and discussed the expectation of the group and how to continue to provide a synergistic platform for future large-scale pilot projects, thus responding to the desire of Horizon Europe to have projects that develop "synergies with other relevant initiatives."

Following this meeting, Ricardo Jardim Gonçalves, professor and researcher at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, representing UNINOVA, was appointed President of the Cluster. Now, and together with ETHEL (European Health Telematics Association), he assumes the secretariat of this group. This appointment recognises the key results of the research and innovation that his research group at UNINOVA has been developing and producing in Digital Health with impact on the international research community and society.

The Health Care Cluster of the European Commission is the European body to represent the reference research and innovation projects and initiatives in Digital Health in Europe.
