On January 24, students from NOVA FCT presented their proposals for the future of the Caparica Campus as part of the Master’s in Sustainable Urbanism and Spatial Planning. The projects showcased the students' vision for a campus focused on sustainability and quality of life, offering innovative solutions to address the challenges of the climate crisis.
“NOVA FCT is at the heart of several key projects for us,” stated Inês de Medeiros, Mayor of Almada, who attended the event. “We have a special appreciation for this Master’s program, which has already generated valuable and inspiring ideas from previous cohorts,” she added.
Graça Martinho, President of the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, highlighted the program’s success: “The Master’s program has consistently filled all available spots since its inception, reinforcing the quality of our educational offering,” she remarked.
With 320 graduates to date, the program continues to deliver solutions for the municipalities of Lisbon and Almada, always with a focus on sustainability and biodiversity.
José Júlio Alferes, Dean of NOVA FCT, Júlia Seixas, Vice-Rector for Sustainability, João Seixas, Vice-Rector for Socio-Territorial Innovation, as well as the program’s coordinators and professors, also attended the session.
