Vasco Mendes, a student and Assistant Professor at NOVA FCT, claimed the title of University Orienteering National Champion for the third consecutive year, in a demanding competition held in Campo do Gerês.
This achievement qualifies him for the European University Championship, which will take place in July in Łódź, Poland, where he will represent NOVA University Lisbon at the highest level.
Also standing out was Francisco Abreu, a PhD student in Geology, who secured a respectable 6th place in the competition.
Their participation highlights the balance between academic excellence and athletic commitment that defines NOVA FCT. This victory reinforces the Schools' role in promoting a dynamic academic environment, where university sports are an integral part of the educational journey.
