The first edition of the NOVA FCT Summer School was a true success! All places were filled by enthusiastic young students eager to explore the world of Science, Technology, and Engineering in a hands-on, fun, and engaging way.
Over several days, participants had the opportunity to experience university life, visit laboratories, take part in practical activities, and engage in interactive challenges. In addition to the scientific and technical components, there was also time for social moments that encouraged teamwork, creativity, and bonding.
Student testimonials reflect the dynamic and engaging atmosphere experienced throughout the week.
"I really liked the organization – everything was planned in detail so that we felt welcomed and included," shared Laura Gameiro, who came from Mozambique.
Lourenço Perpétua, from Leiria, praised the team: "The student monitors were amazing! Always available to help and made everything more fun."
Also from Leiria, João Costa was particularly enthusiastic: "I loved the hands-on activities – it was a very different and interesting way to learn!" He has already made up his mind: he plans to apply for the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at NOVA FCT.
This initiative reaffirms NOVA FCT's commitment to promoting knowledge and encouraging young talent, proving that learning can (and should) be a fun and transformative experience.
