Pedro Casinha, student at NOVA FCT, shone at the Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe European Championships, held in the Czech Republic.
The student won the gold medal in the K4 500m event, alongside Gustavo Gonçalves, João Ribeiro, and Messias Baptista.
His outstanding performance contributed to a highly successful campaign for the Portuguese National Team, which secured a total of five medals, including four European Champion titles, finishing 3rd in the medal table among over 35 participating countries.
As a recognition of their achievement, Pedro Casinha and the other medal-winning athletes will today receive the Vote of Commendation No. 21/XVII, unanimously approved by the Portuguese Parliament, during a ceremony to be held at the headquarters of the Portuguese Canoe Federation.
