Santander/NOVA FCT Merit Scholarships

The Santander Foundation, in partnership with NOVA FCT, will award 10 scholarships of €500 to students with outstanding academic merit.

These scholarships are granted under the General Regulations of Santander Universities, with the following specific conditions applying to candidates from NOVA FCT:

Eligibility conditions for the Santander Foundation – University Support Scholarships (NOVA FCT):
At NOVA FCT, applications for scholarships under the Santander Foundation University Support Program (in Portuguese only) are subject to the following conditions:

a) Be enrolled at NOVA FCT, attending either the 1st or 2nd study cycle (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree);
b) Have an academic record of achievement, except for students enrolling for the first time in the 1st year of a Bachelor’s degree.

Selection criteria at NOVA FCT:
The scholarships are intended for the best students and will be awarded according to the following criteria:

  • Academic performance (70%), assessed by grade point average or admission grade (for first-year students);
  • Income (30%), assessed according to the applicant’s socio-economic situation;

In the event of a tie, the scholarship will be awarded to the student with the lowest income.
