40th Anniversary of the Department of Materials Science

The Department of Materials Science (DCM) celebrated its 40th anniversary on the 24th of June. Professor Jean Etourneau, from the University of Bordeaux, and Dr. Michael Popall, Director of the Fraunhofer ISC International attended the celebrations.

Also made their speeches the founder of DCM, Professor Leopoldo Guimarães, and the Director of FCT NOVA, Professor Fernando Santana, and the Rector of the UNL, Professor António Rendas. The ceremony ended with the award of "Outstanding DCM" some personalities.
