Final Session of the 2nd Edition of the“FCT NOVA Challenge” Competition

The Final Session of the 2nd Edition of the "FCT NOVA Challenge" Competition - powered by U.S. Embassy will take place on June 7, at 3:00 p.m., at FCT NOVA’s Grand Auditorium. For this session the presence of the Secretary of State for Education, Professor João Costa, has been confirmed. The "FCT NOVA Challenge" Competition counts this year with more than 65 projects, from 30 schools and about 250 students.

The winning team will receive a € 5,000 prize and a trip to the United States for all team members where they will have the opportunity to visit the NASA Center in Washington and the Smithsonian Museum. The team classified in 2nd place will receive € 5,000 and the 3rd place will receive a prize of € 2,500.

The aim of “FCT NOVA Challenge" is to promote the interest of scientific knowledge, the interaction between young people and researchers and stimulate talents in the area of ​​sciences, among the young students of the Scientific-Humanistic Course of Sciences and Technologies of Secondary Education, Technologies and Engineering. Its objective is to foster young people's competitive spirit, teamwork and creativity through innovative scientific projects. The Competition is open to the participation of all students of the Scientific-Humanistic Course of Sciences and Technologies of Secondary Education - 12th grade.
