Professor Rodrigo Martins elected Second Vice-President of IUMRS

IUMRS is announced last 11 October the election of Professor Rodrigo Ferrão de Paiva Martins as Second Vice-President of the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IURMS) for the years 2018 and 2019.

The IURMS was founded in the years 1984/1985 with the informal establishment of an “International Committee” with the objective to explore a future formal development of a global Materials Research organization. This occurred in 1990-91 with the formal establishment of the International Union of Materials Research Societies. Its founding members were the Materials Research Society (MRS), E-MRS, Chinese MRS, Mexican MRS, MRS-Taiwan, MRS India and the Australian MRS. IURMS is an international association of technical groups or societies which have an interest in promoting interdisciplinary materials research and education. Today IURMS is composed by following members: Europe (E-MRS); Singapore; China, Taiwan; Japan; India; Indonesia, Tailand; Vietnam; Australia; Coreia; Mexico; Brazil; Russia; (Observers: Argentina; Colombia; Chile; Venezuela; USA).
