The 5th FaCiT Solidarity Race was the busiest ever

The first winner of the 5th FaCiT Solidarity Race, that took place on October 5th, was the organization itself  with over 500 runners registered for the first time in its history.

“The dimension reached in this 5th edition was only possible thanks to the enthusiasm of the leaders of the sports clubs who mobilized their athletes bringing the strength of youth to the Caparica campus; the addition of the 10 km trial attracted fans of athletics, so well represented by the super athlete Armando Aldegalega, honored for sporting merit; and also to the tireless dissemination by the many friends of FaCiT, which are the reason for the association to exist” explains the organization.

Another honoree on this day was Paulo Silva, Principal Coordinator of the SASNOVA Sports Office, and a staunch supporter of academic sport. The event was once more attended by Luzia Dias as godmother of the race, current Sporting athlete with over 25 years of federated athletics practice.

This party atmosphere was enhanced this year by NOVA School of Science and Technology's student  groups and investigators with a playful and pedagogical display of some scientific activities taking place on the Caparica campus.

This year the organization had the usual support of the Social Action Services of the NOVA University of Lisbon, SASNova, the Almada City Council and the Union of the Parish of Caparica and Trafaria.

FaCiT's objectives are to support, promote and implement social solidarity programs and actions for the benefit of students or employees with financial difficulties.
