Discovering the Periodic Table

Between November 19th and 21st the Chemical Elements will be on the loose in the Ágora Room of NOVA School of Science and Technology.

In the interactive exhibition “Discovering the Periodic Table” you are invited to discover the luminescence of the elements, the different forms of Carbon and their applications, the atomic emission spectrum of hydrogen, helium, mercury and sodium, among other activities.

Inserted in the celebrations of the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, this exhibition counts with the participation of the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, Materials Sciences, Earth Sciences and Conservation and Restoration of NOVA School of Science and Technology.

The exhibition “Discovering the Periodic Table” is of free admission and can be visited between 10h00 and 16h00 in the Ágora Room of the Library  at  Caparica campus, on November 19th, 20th and 21st. There is also possibility of a guided tour that requires appointment by the email address: sotomayor@fct.unl.pt

Keep track of the of events that NOVA School of Science and Technology, through the Department of Chemistry and the Library, have prepared to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this creation by Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleiev.
