NOVA School of Science and Technology researcher wins Engº Jaime Filipe Award

Rui Azevedo Antunes received the Engº Jaime Filipe Award as part of his doctoral work at NOVA School of Science and Technology's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC), in partnership with UNINOVA's Center for Technologies and Systems (CTS).

The work “Human Interface System for Computer Access” is designed to allow people with disabilities access to the computer, replacing the mouse, keyboard and gamepad. The thesis was supervised by Luís Brito Palma and co-oriented by Hermínio Duarte-Ramos, both teachers at DEEC of the NOVA School of Science and Technology.

The award, promoted by the National Institute for Rehabilitation, was presented in the city of Santarém on the International Day of People with Disabilities, on December 3, 2019.
