Júlia Seixas is NOVA's new Pro-Rector for Sustainability

11-11-2021

Júlia Seixas, professor and researcher at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, is the most recent acquisition by NOVA's rectory team.

The new Pro-Rector will be responsible for NOVA's Sustainability policy, one of the University's strategic bets.

“NOVA, as a whole, and the members of the NOVA Community - students, academics, staff - aim to contribute significantly to build a better future by engraving their institutional and individual project in this future. Its contribution will be based on the excellence of the knowledge and skills produced and passed on at NOVA, on the resulting potential for innovation, on the values of active and civic citizenship that NOVA shares and promotes, on the quality of its national and international strategic partnerships, and on the collaboration with society, locally and globally, around the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, can be read in the strategic plan 2020/2030.

The serious investment in this area had already launched NOVA 4 the Globe, a platform that seeks to enhance the University's impact on the community and facilitate organizational transformation to implement the best sustainability practices.

The rectory team, sworn in on November 10, 2021, also includes the participation of the following NOVA School of Science and Technology members: Elvira Fortunato, Vice-Rector for Research, José Alferes, Vice-Rector for Digital Transition, and Isabel Nunes, Pro- Rector for the Strategic Plan and Quality Management.
