Gulbenkian New Scientific Talents awarded seven scholarships to students from NOVA School of Science and Technology

The 2021 edition of the Gulbenkian New Scientific Talents Scholarships recognized the quality and merit of seven students from the NOVA School of Science and Technology.

This year, the competition promoted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, contemplated for the first time the area of Environmental Sustainability with the selection of Carolina Cruz de Castro, Inês Martins Wilson and Laura Adriana Van Raaij Ferraz de Menezes, being the only institution with a substantial representation in this field.

The Scholarships also supported José Francisco Gonçalves Grilo in Physics, Sahil Satish Kumar in Artificial Intelligence, Francisco Eduardo Cardoso Leitão Durão Nascimento in Mathematics, and Diogo Costa Cabanas in the area of Quantum Technologies.

The program distinguishes university students who show outstanding academic merit and encourages the development of their culture and skills, supporting their work with recognized experts who exercise the role of tutors.
