On the 17th of May, the first 6 of 10 padel courts at NOVA Sports Club were inaugurated at Caparica Campus.
Built with the latest technology, these courts are open every day of the week (Sunday to Friday between 8 am and 12 am, Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm), as well as the multi-sport field for Volleyball, Basketball, Futsal and Tennis. With a temporary reception, NOVA students and staff can find access to special conditions.
Until August, covers will be placed over the padel courts, transforming these facilities into the largest indoor padel club in the Lisbon metropolitan area. The requalification is expected to be completed in its entirety in December, reinstating to the community a sports space that fulfils its needs.
“I am proud to see the renewed spaces for practicing sports, so necessary for our life on campus as students, professors, researchers and employees,” said Virgílio Cruz Machado, Dean of NOVA School of Science and Technology.
NOVA Sports Club is the result of a partnership between NOVA and RacketsPro, a leading national company in the management of racket clubs, and is part of the University's commitment to sports as a strategic axis of life at NOVA Campi.
The inauguration was attended by the Dean of NOVA School of Science and Technology, representatives of SAS NOVA (NOVA's Social Welfare Services), representatives of RacketsPro and representatives of the Student Association of FCT NOVA.
