The weekend of 25 and 26 February marked the premiere of the 13th season of the television series "Isto é Matemática" (This is Mathematics), with the support of NOVA Math.
This season will feature two episodes inspired by research developed at NOVA Math-Center for Mathematics and Applications. The first episode addressed the work of the researcher Isabel Natário on preferential sampling in the study of the black scabbardfish population. In the third episode, which will be aired during the weekend of March, 11th and 12th, will focus on the work of the researcher Regina Bispo on the study of the environmental impact of wind farms on birds and bats.
Internationally awarded by the International Exhibition of Science on TV VerCiência2013, 'Isto é Matemática' is a science scientific dissemination programme, that presentes mathematical topics in a relaxed and entertaining way.he program boasts excellent production and is presented by mathematician Rogério Martins, professor at the Departament of Mathmatics at FCT NOVA.
