FCT NOVA will foster a new international master's degree in digital health

The European Digital Skills projects recently approved by the European Commission, DS4Health (Digital skills for Healthcare Transformation) and DELPHI (Digital Empowerment and Leadership (for) Sustainable Transformation of Health and Care), will develop an international master of interdisciplinary excellence for Digital Innovation and Healthcare Transformation.

The new master will integrate curricula that cross borders to provide state-of-the-art competencies in digital leadership and empowerment for sustainable transformation in health care.

Ricardo Jardim Gonçalves, professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NOVA, will coordinate de master. The Professor is the European coordinator of the DELPHI project integrated in the DIH Health and Wellbeing of UNINOVA - GRIS, and Chair of the Health & Care Cluster of the European Commission. In addition, the Professor has coordinated European research projects related to digital health, such as Smart4health, ICU4Covid and DIH4CPS.

This master's degree "will provide specialized international training for the establishment of an innovative and sustainable ecosystem of excellence as an accelerator of digital innovation in health and health care in Europe, placing NOVA at the forefront in digital health education", says the coordinator.

The consortium integrates a set of European universities of excellence committed to a world-class joint leadership with a reference environment for digital health education (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Tel Aviv University, Universitaetsklinikum Aachen, Medizinische Universitaet Wien, Panepistimio Ioanninon, Spitalul Clinic De Boli Infectioase, Institut Politechnique de Paris).
