Ocean Community (OC), is a global community and platform, for ocean caring people, innovators and entrepreneurs to connect, learn, innovate and to shape our community acting in the best interest of the ocean. We provide learning programs and knowledge, to increase ocean awareness, support choices in daily life, influence regulators, and as the foundation for innovation. OC is a part of the Word Coalition of Entrepreneur Supporting Organisations, ESO’s, 1000OceanStartUps, that focus on Blue Economy and Ocean Innovation. OC is also a lead partner behind InnofuseBlue Lda, an Innovation Hub and Incubator launching in Portugal with focus on innovative start-up ventures and scale-ups in the Blue Economy. The founder, Susanne Wedin-Schildt is a mentor in this year’s Nova FCT Entrepreneurship Program.
OCEAN COMMUNITY CHALLENGE (OCC) invites early stage innovators and ideas to develop in a structured program including master-classes, training sessions and coaching from global leading experts together with individual mentorships. The selected teams are awarded with customised pre-acceleration programs and/or guided into a partner accelerator program and investor conversations based on solution viability and business model maturity. Focusing on early teams and ideas, OCC fills a void in the ocean innovation ecosystem for early innovators and ideas with impact potential that are not yet accelerator- or investor ready. This is a perfect next step also for the NOVA FCT teams with blue themes that have participated in the Entrepreneurship program.

OCEAN AMBASSADOR PROGRAM Becoming an Ocean Ambassador is an opportunity for University students to act as the connecting point between Ocean Community and the University to increase ocean awareness and understanding of the ocean of opportunities that exist in the field of ocean innovation.
The Ocean Ambassador secures that our innovation and learning programs are communicated to the students and Ocean ambassadors work together across our blue planet to continuously develop our programs. Ocean Ambassadors also initiative, support and share information to our community about local activities such as events, presentations, beach clean ups and presentations to younger students.
