On June 24th, the Municipality of Almada honored several individuals and institutions who have made significant contributions to the development of the municipality. Among the awardees was João Joanaz de Melo, professor and researcher at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at NOVA FCT, who received the Silver Medal of Merit and Dedication.
The award recognizes his work in the fields of education and the environment, where he has built an impactful academic and civic career, promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.
The ceremony aimed to highlight the merit and dedication of those who, across various fields, have contributed to the growth and development of Almada.
