Novo Núcleo Teatro (NNT) has been awarded the FATAL City of Lisbon Prize in the category of Most Innovative Performance, as part of the 2025 edition of FATAL – Lisbon’s Annual Academic Theatre Festival.
The award-winning play, "Entre Quatro Paredes", directed by Clara Passarinho and performed by António Novo and Henrique Rodrigues, was presented on May 20 at the Carlos Paredes Auditorium in Benfica. With a bold aesthetic approach and intense dramaturgical structure, the performance explores themes such as power, identity, and freedom through a symbolic interplay between physical and psychological space.
This prize acknowledges NNT’s creativity, artistic risk-taking, and collective strength, highlighting the role of academic theatre as a space for experimentation, reflection, and innovation.
This is one of several accolades received by NNT at this festival, the largest academic theatre festival in Portugal.
