NOVA FCT Alumna Honoured with International Microsoft Award

Carmo Palma, alumna of the NOVA School of Science and Technology | NOVA FCT, has been awarded the prestigious Microsoft Power Women Award 2025, which recognises female leaders making an impact in the technology sector within the Microsoft partner ecosystem. The award was announced this week by Microsoft Portugal.

A graduate in Computer Engineering from NOVA FCT, Carmo Palma is currently the Managing Director of Axians Portugal, part of the VINCI Energies group dedicated to Digital Transformation. With over 30 years of experience in Information and Communication Technologies, she has led multidisciplinary teams in areas such as artificial intelligence, data, and business application development, with a strong commitment to diversity, sustainability, and digital transformation.

Her professional journey stands out for its consistency, strategic vision, and focus on building growth-oriented cultures. With additional training from institutions such as Nova SBE, AESE, and Stanford, Carmo Palma has also been a vocal advocate for more authentic and inclusive leadership in the technology sector.

The Microsoft Power Women Award highlights her contributions to promoting more equitable organisational cultures and serves as an inspiration for new generations of women pursuing careers in technology.

NOVA FCT congratulates Carmo Palma on this well-deserved recognition and is proud of the outstanding career of its former student, who continues to make a positive impact in both the sector and society.
