Professors Carlos Lodeiro and José Luis Capelo, both professors at FCT-UNL’s Chemistry Department, saw recently the research work of the research group they lead, Bioscope, in collaboration with a group from the Department of Chemistry and the University of Aveiro, CICECO, highlighted on the cover of the October journal "ChemPlusChem" of the editorial of "Angewandte" and "Chemistry", both from Wiley.

The series "Isto é Matemática " , promoted by the Portuguese Mathematical Society and presented with humor by Professor Rogério Martins of FCT-UNL Mathematics Department , was awarded the International Exhibition of Science TV " VerCiência 2013 ", held in Brazil from 21 October , with the Trophy Special Tribute VerCiência 2013 , day on which the teacher will receive the prize in Rio de Janeiro

Cristina Rodrigues, former FCT Chemistry  student, is one of the three Portuguese working in OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons), an independent international organization that cooperates with the United Nations and that this year won the Peace Nobel Prize. Cristina Rodrigues holds the position of Officer of OPCW’s "Protection and Assistance Section".
