The former Civil Engineering student Pedro Patrício received honorable mention of the Young Geotechnical Engineering José Folque Prize in Portuguese Language, of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society.

FCT NOVA gold and silver medals at the Tennis National Universities Championship

The Tennis National Universities Championship by teams was held at Monsanto (Lisbon) on 22 and 23 November 2017.


The Doctorate Program Biomedical Engineering: NOVA Instrumentation for Health (NOVA I4H) was selected in 2015 in the framework of the FCT PhD Programs with Industry Call opened by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia IP (FCT, IP). It was awarded with 24 PhD scholarships for a total of 4 editions (one edition comprises 4 years).

Portuguese President of the Republic at FCT NOVA 40th Anniversary

The Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon (FCT NOVA) celebrated its 40th Anniversary on November 17, and the ceremony was presided by His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic.

Susana Valente, FCT NOVA former student, discovers functional cure for HIV-AIDS

Professor Susana Valente, current Group Leader in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the Scripps Research Institute in Florida in the US, and former FCT NOVA student in Applied Chemistry at FCT NOVA (1997), tested a drug that can achieve a functional cure for HIV-AIDS.
